Sharing the Holiday Love

by Tracey Moore

I love celebrating the holidays with family and friends – at Christmas parties, get-togethers, dinners, and more. But what I really love about this time of year is taking stock of everything I’m grateful for.

That’s why I support a wide range of organizations and causes all year long – because I feel compelled to lift up others and help make New Orleans a better place.

If any of the following non-profits sound interesting to you -- or pull at your heartstrings -- please join me in supporting them!  Thank you for your generosity :-)

Non-Profits I’m Supporting in 2024:

The LLS mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving cancer research and provides free information and counseling to patients navigating their cancer journey. Beyond being a team member and raising over $28,000 for LLS this year, I helped my team leader raise over $110,000!

Benjamin Franklin High School has educated some of New Orleans’ best and brightest since 1957 and is ranked as one of the top public charter schools in the nation. The Franklin family fosters a tradition of excellence in all of its students, who go into the world fully prepared for life in higher education and beyond.

Bridge House’s mission has been to provide no-cost substance-use disorder treatment services to those who have lost everything, treating over 800 homeless, indigent, uninsured, and/or unemployed men and women each year.

Zeus’ Place has been serving the Greater New Orleans Area for over 16 years, providing a unique boarding, daycare, and grooming experience. Its sister facility, Zeus’ Rescues, helps get stray animals out of high-kill metro shelters and into forever homes.

Planned Parenthood helps all people live full, healthy lives by providing high-quality inclusive and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care services and by advocating for public policies that protect and expand reproductive rights and access to a full range of sexual and reproductive health care services.

Second Harvest Food Bank leads the fight against hunger in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education, and disaster response.

Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and everyone living with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.
