A Well-Loved House; A Time to Move On

This house on Prytania Street is a beautiful property in the heart of Uptown, and while my clients George and Beth loved living there for many years, they had already retired to North Carolina when they contacted me to sell their home in New Orleans.

Another Family Takes a Look

One Sunday afternoon, while hosting an open house at George and Beth’s, a family from Baton Rouge came in to take a look. We struck up a conversation and promptly hit it off. Kelly, who is a chef, and Chris, an engineer, have two daughters in college and were planning to move to New Orleans; they didn’t have a realtor yet and asked if I’d like to work with them to find the right home.

Could It Have Been the Right One All Along?

Throughout the spring of 2019, Kelly and Chris came to New Orleans regularly, so that I could show them different properties Uptown near Audubon Park. But something kept drawing them back to look at the house on Prytania Street — where we’d first met. Soon, other houses they were considering started to go under contract, and they realized that all the time they’d been house-hunting, the perfect home for them was the very first one they’d walked into.

So they made an offer on the home, George & Beth accepted it, and Kelly & Chris are now the proud owners. Funny how sometimes the right one is right under your nose, but it takes some serious soul-searching (and house-hunting) to see it.
